Florine Imo: 'As Light as a Feather'

lbf contemporary is delighted to announce ‘As Light as a Feather’, a solo exhibition by Austrian artist Florine Imo, opening on June 6. Imo delves into the complexities of contemporary female characters, challenging societal norms and perceptions through her reinterpretation of angels. This new body of work explores themes of imperfections, mistakes, and vulnerability, inviting viewers to question traditional notions of morality and righteousness. Through the exploration of the artist's relationship with her fellow artist boyfriend, Imo adds layers of love, sacrifice, struggle, and healing to the narrative, her distinctive visual language enhancing the emotional depth of her storytelling.

Lives and works in London, UK and Vienna, AUT
Florine Imo is a figurative painter, sculptor, and poetry writer currently living and working between Vienna and London. She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna in 2023. Highlights of recent exhibitions include; ‘Judgement Day’, Steve Turner, Los Angeles (solo); ‘Female Recollection’, ALBA Gallery, Vienna (group); ‘7Sin5’, Hew Hood Gallery, London (solo). Imo will present a solo exhibition with Steve Turner, Los Angeles and participate in the exhibition 'Substance’ in the Künstlerhaus at Albertina Modern, Vienna later this year.
